After attending the CALICO (Computer Assisted Language Instruction Consortium) conference in San Francisco in March of 2008 at which Second Life, the virtual reality world and its implications and possibilities for teaching foreign languages received a large audience following and interest it was decided that especially this topic out of the many others presented there could be researched further and made available to the public. So it is with this aim in mind that this blog post has been created thus allowing the possibility for other interested individuals to obtain information about and to participate in this new movement of technology.

Within a few weeks a more detailed report should be made available at this blog. For now here is some media to acquaint the interested individuals with at least some aspects of the virtual world, Second Life.
